Outlander in the Cape Fear is a lively presentation exploring the real local history woven into the global phenomenon that is the Outlander book and TV series by Diana Gabaldon. The fictional love story of Jamie and Claire Fraser closely parallels the true experiences of thousands of Scots who immigrated to the American colonies before the Revolutionary War.
Using the events, characters, and themes from colonial North Carolina featured in Outlander, Burgwin-Wright House Assistant Museum Director Hunter Ingram will delve into the fact and fiction behind the series’ portrayal of Cape Fear’s rich history - just in time for the 250th anniversaries of many of these historical moments in 2025 and 2026.
Whether you're a devoted fan or completely new to the series, this presentation is for you!
