Our Philosophy

The purpose of the Club is to join together women who reside in St. James Plantation and desire to study the history of antiques and share their mutual interests in antiques, collectibles of all types, and all things old. Many people are doing away with all of their old artwork, furniture and antiques for a variety of reasons - but we don't lose interest in them.  Just because you have given something away and no longer have the room, or if you’ve never collected antiques but have always been interested  in them,  it’s still important to preserve their history and knowledge for yourself, and a great way to tell stories about the past to grand kids. Getting together with like minded individuals is a wonderful way to learn more about vintage articles that have shaped history as well as sharing and learning more about items that have been part of your family heritage or your memories. And a great way to make new friends and memories.

We are supposed to be retired, but we’re never home, always on the move, involved in so much and have less time than when we worked.

We hold monthly meetings  (held at a member’s home, at the St. James Community Center, or a day trip / outing) that incorporate planned outings to historical sites in the area, and guest speakers that talk about historical topics or vintage collections.

We have a shared passion – we either love antiques, we want to learn about antiques, we want to preserve historical collections and their history, or we want to share our knowledge of our collections as expert speakers, at home or away.

We are fortunate that we live in an area where there are many experts on the kinds of vintage topics and local history that we all love.

We have fun, and enjoy good food and friendship at our monthly meetings, and when we travel somewhere that is beyond a day trip we enjoy our time together.

If you are interested in joining, please reach out to our membership chair, lindaboretti@gmail.com. And YOU DON’T NEED a Vintage Outfit to join or attend meetings or activities. Most of the women don’t have a vintage outfit.

Our members include ladies that have been original club members and ladies that have just joined.  What a great way to mix with new people and make new friends over a shared passion for antiques, collectibles and historic items!
